1970s

The Seventies
Remember When.....

The Watergate scandal broke out and President Nixon resigned.

Sarah Jane Moore shot at Ford and he escaped.

Jimmy Carter was the first president elected from the south since the Civil War....

The Vietnam War finally came to an end.  The United States celebrated its 200th birthday--the bicentennial.  Apollo 14 landed on the moon.  The King of Rock and Roll died.....

Abba, the Village People, the Bee Gees, the Doobie Brothers, and Rod Stewart were crowding the air waves.  The YMCA became the new dance craze.  Everyone was doing the disco....

Everybody was tripping over each other to see John Travolta and Olivia Newton John in Grease.  Actually Star Wars was the biggest money maker of all time.  Rocky and The Godfather hit the big screen.  Jesus Christ Superstar opened up on Broadway...

Remember playing the game Operation or freaking out making creepy crawlers? How about talking to your friend with walkie talkies...

Remember when Sony invented the Walkman?  IBM invented the floppy disk and made it easier for people to use the computer.  Remember when you had to use a video disk because you didn't have a VCR?  The pocket calculator came out.
Microwave ovens and waterbeds were the "must have" in homes....

Dorothy Hamill and Farrah Fawcett influenced the hairstyles.  Bead necklaces, mood rings, and chains were the newest fad.  Everyone strutted around in bell bottoms, hip huggers, halter tops, and platform shoes...

If you remember all that, you remember the seventies!
